The properties used for these examples are worth $450,000 in the City of Naperville. Assessing each property at 1/3 fair market value produces an assessed value of $150,000. To calculate the taxes for the properties, the residential exemption ($6,000) is subtracted from the assessed value and this figure is multiplied by the tax rates for the areas.
