National Arbor Day Foundation –Tree City USA Certified Community for the 18th year in a row.  The City spokesperson stated, “Trees beautify and lend values to our homes, neighborhoods, parks and business areas”. (April 2008)

Natioanl Arbor Day Foundation in co-operation with National Association of State Foresters - Tree Line USA Utility *****1st time Naperville has received this designation***** - honors those utilities that meet the requirements of a program of quality tree care, annual worker training in quality tree care practices and a tree planting and public education program. (March 2009)

U.S. Department of Energy – Renewable Energy Program – Naperville’s customer participation rate has the 6th highest percent enrollment of residents & businesses in the country.

DuPage Children’s Museum - #1 Children’s Museum – October 2007

“GREEN” honor – National Illinois and Chicago Environment Halls of Fame – The city was recognized for its renewable energy program.  Almost 8.5% of the city’s residential utility customers participate. (October 2008)

#29 “Best Places to Live and Launch” – Naperville is the only Illinois city that made the list.  Fortune Small Business magazine stated Naperville attracts a mix of fortune 500 companies and small businesses. (April 2008)
